teecher.gifWelcome to Mrs. Gomez's First Grade class!!!

71415_30536_3.jpg My sweet family - I love my boys!

A little about Mrs. Gomez:

I grew up in The Woodlands (a LONG time ago when it was really small), and I graduated from McCullough High School which is now The Woodlands High School.  After that, I went to Texas A&M and received my teaching degree.  I began teaching at Powell Elementary in The Woodlands in 1994.  Since that time, I have taught in Conroe ISD, Houston ISD, and Clear Creek ISD.  I have taught first through fourth grade, and I have been a literacy coach and a reading intervention specialist.  I have a passion for teaching!  I love helping kids discover a thirst for reading and learning!!!  Over half of my teaching career has been in first grade, and I think it's a grade full of growth, excitement, and fun!

My husband, Garrett, and I moved to Spring Trails in 2007 with our son, Gavin.  I have been teaching at Broadway since 2009.  I have taught second and third grade at Broadway. My son, Gavin, attended Broadway for five years and he's now in seventh grade at York Junior High. We love being part of the Broadway family!

Teaching is my passion, but I love to travel with my boys any chance I get.  My son keeps me busy with his schedule of Boy Scouts and football, and we spend a lot of time with my parents and my sister who all live close by.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.  I make every effort to answer emails the same day.  However, there are times that it will be the next day before I am able to respond (I am a mom as well as a teacher).  I will respond within 24 hours.

Together, we will work to make first grade a fantastic, fun-filled year of learning for your child!  I believe it is imperative to work TOGETHER and be on the same team to help your child.  I look forward to a wonderful year!

Kindest regards,
Mrs. Gomez
